Scrapbooking Project

Hi friends

I am an EFL teacher in Brazil and I am looking for partners to join a Scrapbooking Project.

This is the idea:

Project Description: Two classes from different countries start creating a scrapbook that represents the students' interests, lifestyles and culture. Each student will take the scrapbook home to express himself theough poems, texts, favorite lyrics, a story, drawing, photos, stickers, postcards. In summary, each student will have a chance to personalize a page. On a set date, the two classes send the scrapbooks to its partner country. The project aims to encourage authentic writing by providing the students with a real audience. Besides, it gives an opportunity for students to understand other cultures. The two classes will exchange e-mails or use a blog to keep in touch during the project.

Age: teenagers
Level: Intermediate or Advanced

    Nice-looking blog, Carla and Erica!
Have you ever visited http://www.iearn.org? If you're looking for partners for a project, that's definitely an ideal starting point!

    Hi everyone,
    Thanks for checking my blog!

Yes, we are interested in working with any group of students learning English. It would be great to work with students in Taiwan and Italy. I really want students to know that they can use English to communicate with people all over the world, not only with people from English speaking countries.

Sorry Stephanie, my students don't speak Spanish, only Portuguese and English, but you can surely use this idea and try to find partners whose students are learning Spanish.

Yes, Gladys. I am a member of iEARN and have been working on various iEARN projects like "One Day", "Teddy Bear", "Side by Side" and "My school your school". In fact, the idea of the scrapbooking project came after we exchanged teddy bears with students from Pakistan and Laguna beach. I will add this project to the iEARN list of projects too.

    Dear all,

Erika and I were really glad you liked our idea, and as soon as our classes start (beginning of March), we will get in touch again to match groups according to age and interests. Well, I'll be working with two adult groups and a Teenage one (teens around 17). So, let's be in touch!

    Hi, Erika and Carla
I like your idea of creating a students' scrapbook. My weakest students can usually draw very well so even they would be able to contribute.
    We'll stay in touch.
    Cheers,
    Claudia (Argentina)

    Hi Erika,
My friend Stephanie commented your blog. She works in Maine. She is a great teacher! The trick on the brigadeiros is to let them cool, that is good to know. It would be fun to go to Brazil I will work on that plan!
    Keep in touch.Cheryl

What a great idea! And it combines my two passions - scrapbooking and teaching! (oh, and blogging, too) :) Too bad I'm not teaching at the moment, just teacher training...

    Hi!

You know we are doing the International language and culture Project with 3 and 4 year students of the faculty of foreign languages of Bryansk state uni, Russia.
It's devoted to the relations between Russia and Latin America.
    We have our Project Site
    http://www.acr.scilib.debryansk.ru/ruslat1/index.html

and there we also have our Forum.

And we are looking for more partners from Central and South America (we have some).

It'd be great if you got interested in that too.
